Parent & Carer Centre

Welcome to Pentland Parent and Carer Centre!

Here you can find lots of information and resources to support your child with a range of topics, including Home Learning, Digital Safety, Emotional Development and Managing Additional Support Needs at Home.

We have populated this page with many of the resources we commonly recommend to parents and carers when they are looking for advice on how to further support their child.

We hope you find this helpful in supporting your child.

www.parentclub.scot is another excellent website with resources and advice for parents.

Home Learning

Please find below a table of helpful resources to support your child’s learning at home. Research suggests that Home Learning for primary-aged children is most effective when focused on the core skills of Literacy and Numeracy, so we have happily signposted some key resources below.

Literacy

You can do these at home, if you wish!

Digital Safety

Digital Safety is an essential part of our Empowered Learning strategy, which provides an iPad for each P6 and P7, and shared access to an iPad for children in P1-5.

We teach about the vital knowledge and skills around keeping yourself safe online. Please find an informative page on the Parent Club website around online behaviour.

In addition, we expect each of our children to be aware of the Responsible Use Agreement. In some cases we will send this home to be viewed by parents and carers too. Click here to view the City of Edinburgh Council Empowered Learning Responsible Use Agreement.
